How to give a password on rar or zip file is fairly easy, make sure you have installed winrar or winzip, for those who do not have winrar please download winrar first, then run the application.
The steps provide a password on the rar file is as follows:

Make sure the computer you've installed the program winrar, if not just download.
Prepare a file or folder will be compressed with winrar.
Right-click on files / folders to be used as a rar or zip file, then click "Add to Archive ..."

On the General tab you can select the file / foder is not compressed with RAR or Zip format.

Select the advanced tab and click sett password.

Fill in the password that you want and check encript file names.

Then the last select ok again to start compressing.
